Not the whole house, the plugs that washing machine, dryer and oven are connected too. He doesnt know yet if i need separate connection to the oven as no idea what amps it is as there js no label. All i know its ikea electric oven and gas cooker integratedmacman said:I think the OP means that the sparky (who came out on a Sunday afternoon?) has suggested rewiring the faulty circuit-not necessarily the whole house?
If he couldn't find the 'burnt wire', then how does he know that is the cause? All he knows is that there is a fault on a cable or socket on that circuit that caused the fuse to operate.0 -
Most ovens are in the 2.5-3KW range. A few of the larger ones require hard wiring in to a circuit capable of handling 16A. If in doubt, hard wire in to a dedicated circuit.Agusya said:

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

When the poster was talking about the fuses not having wires i know what he/she means,we have a similar fuse box but when we pull one of the circuit fuse holders out they have a ceramic cartridge type fuse in them, slightly bigger than the fuses in a 13 amp plug and all marked with the ampage.0

None of this indicates the need for a 'rewire' of that circuit. Your sparky just needs to find the cause of the fault, which is probably just a loose or broken connection somewhere on that circuit.
And please get him to change that lethal broken surface socket while he's doing the other work.No free lunch, and no free laptop
