Mobile phone 'bank' charger

Sorry, don't know what they are called but need a portable phone charger.
I was recently stuck when the car refused to start in the middle of the moor and freezing. The AA (very good response) were sending repeated linked texts that I couldn't use, asking me to stay on the phone till they located me and the rescue guy on the way rang. Plus a call to my local garage and I was low on battery to ring friends if I needed.

I need a portable charger to carry. Friend has one but not sure what is best for the price to get.
Seen them in Tescos that do 50% in 30mins but that seems a poor result - maybe that's the norm?

Could anyone advise of the best for the price please.
I drive in low signal areas.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

    Power Bank.
Basically a lithium battery with USB connectors to allow a cable to plug in and power items.

Charge speed will depend on the phone as much as the Power Bank design/capability (current output).  Look for fast charge ports on any you look at.  Ensure the charging ports sockets match your phone charger cable.

Larger capacity batteries will be heavier.  Maybe not an issue if in the glovebox.

Apple fast charge is 50% in 30 minutes and may be what you are being confused by on that score?  50% of what battery capacity I have no idea.

Good to have but won't make any difference to your signal

Good point :) Just the sort of thing I hadn't thought of. Thank you.

No Mike but I'm used to searching for a signal and we're a friendly lot even in the wilds, people would have phoned for me or sent me to a spot so that's what it is.
If I have life in the phone I can search, stand on a wall or gate ;)

I was prepared I thought but only dealing with the real thing makes you find out what you really need

Plenty of low quality power banks on the market, it's worth avoiding them. Anker products are always pretty good, their 313 is probably all you need:
A car charger would also have been useful on the moor, unless your car battery was discharged.

    Evolution, not revolution

Thank you Dicky, I've saved that link.
Yes, my friend has one in her car but until this happens you don't hear of these things. It's not our normal chit chat

I'm going to be looking for one of those as well now people no longer carry jump leads. It may have worked, may in another scenario - the alternator had gone just on a whim and the relay - but the AA guy fitted a new battery and I was able to drive to the garage.

Everything was fine, climbing the hills etc no probs just refused to start  when I stopped for a photo. Bittingly cold and everyone gone home.
