Pictures of the install for one of my QDRF G10s. My HA insisted I have one in my kitchen, where I had never had a NSH before, so I would think it would be easy to install one or two and then add others at a later date. They did need to add the extra switch to each QD for the E7 control, so no doubt as it is a HA they went the trunking route, rather than channel out and bury in a wall. I know some of my neighbours would not like the trunking. It really did not worry me. Not sure what others who have QDs installed found but they also added new fuse boxes, is this something that has to happen with QDs or did my HA just decided to update while doing the install? My Nextdoor neighbour was in two minds about having his installed but after seeing mine, went ahead. He likes the resulting heat and control with the new QDs but due to moving some of his old heaters to different walls, his choice, there was more mess to the walls in the property than mine.

A) HA also reroofed and added insulation as well as adding 6 solar panels in the year before the new QDs installation.
B)Prices for energy have gone up in the past few years.
If pushed, I would, on all those things considered, say "Yes" it is cheaper. I used to pay £110 per month DD, EDF wanted to reduce to £55 but I wanted to pay more, so settled for £80 and I am still in credit for over £187. Two and a half months using the QDs probably not easy to work out yet. No doubt someone will tell me to check the kWh used, more than the ££s I'm paying. I just like the control with the new QDs and know if I am cold I can use the "Boost" on the QDs rather than turn an electric or oil filled plug in radiator on.
Edit:- to make Gerry happy ;-)Paddle No 21:wave:3 -

@GibbsRule_No3 that's good to know, thanks. I pay EDF the full amount each month so paying over £200 when it gets cold.0

@Taff76 Boo-hoo! Just spoke with British Gas. All storage heaters have to be Quantum, with the ability to upgrade to G9 (so G8 OK). I have one old one which won't qualify so can't get the tariff.0

So… I finally have 2 quantum heaters installed. They are different versions so am trying to get me head around them. I understand the timer modes and understand I can change those times but what’s best to do over the weekend, when I’m home but will be out late afternoon and not return until evening? Should I just leave it on home all day, advance to turn it off before I go out, then advance again when I get back in? Or is there another way?@RedFraggle @EssexHebridean or anyone please?
Am I correct in thinking that all the time the fan is on and blowing it is using stored heat (Eco 7) but if I use the boost, it can use peak Electricity? TIA.0
