Its Sky contract time again. Need to sense check if hoops are still the same.

Got a text yesterday to say my contract is up in April.  I did phone but it was too early.  I need to phone back in March.

Looking to check if the same old hoops to get the best deal are still the same.

My process the last few times has been to phone to get my next deal price.   To refuse that price and to begin the cancellation of the contract.   They put me through to "retentions" or whatever they are calling it now who offer me a better deal after they have gone through all the lets look at what you watch type questions.  I refuse that deal as well.   A few days later I will get a call from someone in Sky who is pretending to ask how my call went a couple of days ago.  They are the people who can offer the best deal.

Any changes in the last 18 months.   I suppose the main difference is that I know have a Sky Q.  I do still have two old Sky+ boxes as well as a recordable freesat box somewhere so do have options to pretend I have other boxes I can use.  The LNB may be an issue though.

  • Your course of action seems fine. Compare new customer deals for Sky and other providers and use these as a bench mark.

  • I I cancelled Sky, refused several offers from them, I ordered Sky Stream then changed my mind (on Monday) then today I received an offer by post to have Sky signature and Netflix for £20, and Sky cinema for £6 for 18 months……of course I took this offer!! I canceled tv in November and they have been ringing me and offering me deals since then, I grabbed this one as I can’t imagine I would get a better deal than this….
