Seriously, just cancel and walk away if you think it costs too much.
I'm a long term Virgin media customer simply because crappy openreach based FTTC is 80/20 max in my area so to get proper internet I need to use Virgin for a 1 Gig line.
That was until £22.50 for 1 gig up / down with brsk FTTP came along so despite great service from Virgin, I'm leaving.0 -
Had the email they want to put me up from £15/month to £21, a 40% increase!!(M50 broadband + Talk Weekends)Thankfully, retentions have sorted it.0

cammyloon said:Hi all. I've seen a number of posts from Virgin customers being informed that they're facing a price rise of over 20%. I've been notified my bill is to rise by around 28%. I've two questions.
First, how is Virgin calculating the increase? I spoke to an agent this evening (not an enlightening experience). She was unable to tell me how my increase had been set. But I wonder if it's set as a lower percentage increase on the price I would have paid BEFORE discounts were included in my current contract.
Second, if that is how Virgin calculates its rises, this will become critical next year, when customers will no longer be allowed to end their contract early. Say my contract with Virgin was originally for £100 pm, but I negotiated a lower rate of £60 pm with discounts. If Virgin ups its prices by 10% next year, I want that to increase my £60 pm tariff by £6. I don't want Virgin to impose a £10pm increase - by applying 10% to the £100pm figure. Is this something Virgin customers should be getting clarification on from Virgin's agents?0 -
I’ve been told by VM that I will face no increase this year based on the fact i renegotiated my deal back in November which I thought was bizarre maybe there is a cut off point as to when they can’t impose the increase on your contract I’ve screenshot the WhatsApp conversation just in case.0

I currently have a great deal... negotiated in August last year ... Virgin's top bundle for less then £49 plus the O2 contract of £20 ...I know was seriously surprised myself. Just had the letter telling me that its going up by £21 a month... so they are definitely calculating the increase on what you should be paying, not what you do pay. They have also stated that the future yearly increases with be based upon the R.P.I plus 3.9% .... so even if you get lucky with not having this year's increase added to your bill .... there is no escape from having regular increases enforced upon you. I will be speaking with retention but have decided that whatever happens Virgin will at some point, be losing my custom...The issue might be who do you replace them with ... other people suggestion would be welcomed? There is always Netflix?0
