Virgin Media price increase - Newer contract - Advice welcomed.

Hi folks,
So I need some advice. Found out today that my broadband package with Virgin Media will go up by seven pounds in May, I only redid my contract in October 2022 and specifically asked if that monthly cost would increase over the contract's length, and I was told it wouldn't. Less than five months into the new contract and I'm already getting a price increase. So I'm not sure what options are available to me. Realistically the increase means I won't be able to afford the package, as I'm struggling enough already but need to have internet access due to my disability, it's pretty much essential. I do intend to ring VM up sometime today or tomorrow but if past experiences are to go by, it'll likely be a waste of time. I'm not sure what I can do next, can I cancel the contract without facing a massive cost, is there any other options or am I just screwed.
It's infuriating, plus it means I'll likely have to go searching for another broadband deal which is a headache in itself.
Thanks for any advice, it'll be much appreciated.

Call Virgin and they will give you a credit to counter the price increase. Alternatively you can cancel for free.
Let us know your current package and cost and we can tell you if its a good price as you can also negotiate your existing price down when calling to discuss the price increaseFTB - April 20201
