UKPC DCB Legal claim discontinued

Options
So over the past couple of days I've sent DCBLegal a defendants response from the forms on their website, I need to reach out to the 'land owners' but unsure who this would be, the county council / borough of where the car was parked? UKPC the enforcers or the company I rented the property from? Any help in next steps greatly appreciated.

where is the car park - you may find someone has already done the work you need.
land registry is also a good point of contact

SOME IDEAS ON DETERMINING WHO OWNS THE LAND:

    1. Google searches
    2. If a retail park, check on any signage which lists the on-site outlets
    3. Ask retailers on the site if there is a managing agent
    4. Ask retailers on the site to whom do they pay rent
    5. Contact the local authority and ask who pays the non-domestic/business rate for the car park (some councils have a spreadsheet on their website)
    6. Contact the local Valuation Office and ask if they know. They often have a website which might provide the information
    7. Contact The Land Registry and for around £3 they should be able to provide definitive detail
    8. If you haven't already done so, give us the name of the car park/site/location, we may have seen other cases there.

    IN ADDITION (re DCB Legal):

I thought I'd draw your attention to this fairly recent thread which you might have not yet seen. You must keep going through all the necessary court procedure phases, but the hope is that your case will follow the same pattern as all those detailed in the thread.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

  • Thank you both,

It wasn't a car park, it was on the road quite literally outside my flat in the London Borough of Lambeth, a Cul-de-Sac, I rented a flat out between December 2016 and September 2019.

The company that I rented my landlords flat from issued a Parking Permit (which I still have on file) about two weeks after I moved in. The fines were issued in 2018...

UKPC no longer are parking agents for that particular road.

It is not the Council and UKPC don't own it either.

If you can contact the landlord they'll be able to give you the Managing Agents.  They are responsible for signing up UKPC.  I do not mean the Letting Agents.

But if UKPC have been given the boot, the MA won't be able to cancel the PCN anyway.

You will win in court later on, though because UKPC (if using DCBLegal) discontinue well defended cases.

Have you told UKPC and their solicitors to erase your old address from their databases? You've moved so they must ONLY be allowed by you to use one address (do not assume it's safe, just because they are now writing to you at the new address...).

  • Thanks Coupon-Mad, so as UKPC have been given the boot, its impossible to cancel the PCN which renders speaking to anyone to attempt it a lost cause I guess...

So with this in mind, I've just got to sit tight and wait for the court claim to come through and then go from there, building my defence, showing I was a resident, with a permit issued at the time etc...

The fact they know that is beggars belief as to why they're still pursuing it. Unless they know something I don't....

Yes - and if they use DCBLegal, smile knowingly!

Have you done what I added about address rectification/erasure?

  • As in ensuring they have the correct address for me on record? I did that a year or so ago when I emailed, highlighting please note that I have moved and my new address is XXXXXXX

I have just told them again they also have to let me know what address they had on file for me in the defendants form I filled in...

all letters are going to my current address so I hope this is the case...

  • Is it worth me still going to UKPC out of interest and highlighting the outstanding fines and again reiterating that I had a permit as per the previous correspondence, also highlighting that none of us want to go to court and its in their interest to remove this or do DCBLegal 'own' the fines now.

If anyone sues you, it will be UKPC.

UKPC are still very much involved and any alleged debt is to them.
  • understood, so UKPC haven't passed the debt on as they're the ones suing, in which case is there any weight in me speaking to UKPC. My thanks for your help
