Submitting a gas meter reading

I have been with British Gas for 30 years+ and have a standard gas meter. I have set up an online account by registering with them. However, I am unable to submit a meter reading with my account. When I use the British Gas website and go through their 'Submit a Meter Reading' section I get the following: 'Sorry, you do not have any accounts that are eligible for a meter reading'. I found it impossible to telephone them on 0333 202 9802 and I have sent a complaint email in November that was never answered. How on earth do I get hold of anyone at British Gas to rectify this? Grateful for any help.

    Use their online chat is probably the best thing to do.
    And when you get sorted leave BG.
    Like I have just done.
    Their customer service & billing is ( was ) appalling.

    I have also been with British Gas for over 30 years and have the same problem as above, site states that my account is being handled by a dedicated team? when redirected to there bot end up 178th in queue. I have complained to them in the past about the smart meter readings not working, have now received bill with incorrect estimated gas readings which I cannot correct with a submitted reading!

    Make a formal complaint in writing (by both e-mail and snail mail - stop phoning) and if it doesn't get sorted within eight weeks refer it to the ombudsman.
