pension credit.

Hi All,
My mother has been told by the local council she is entitled to pension credit. She gets 2 private pensions but on the online application form it doesnt ask how much she gets.
My question will they find out or do i need to ring them.?Also 2 years ago they said she was entitled and then they took it of her saying she wasn't.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

I think she has to tell them how much.
There is a calculator here https://www.gov.uk/pension-credit-calculator

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • I've done the calculator which asks for the amounts but on the application form it doesn't.
These are the questions and only yes or no answers
    .
Do you have any income from employment?
    No
Have you had any income from self-employment since 14 August 2022?
     No
Have you paid into any non-UK pensions?
     No
Have you paid into any UK personal pensions that you have not taken yet?
     No
Do you receive any other regular income or payments?
     No

Would the regular income from the 2 private pensions not fall under this?

You say she receives 2 pensions so the answer should be 'yes'.  It may then ask for details.

That’s my take (although it would be clearer if the question said pensions). The claim hasn’t been correctly correctly.

  • Thank you,I have changed the answer to yes and filled in the pension details in the box.

Every council tax support application I've ever completed on behalf of cleints has asked about other income/ private pensions. It must be on the form somewhere?

I understood the question to be about claiming Pension Credit

Remember that if the private pensions increase in April the new amounts will need to be reported.
