me too ... caught in the net by the method (not an alternative fuel user) ... it would appear a number of others have received theirs this pm.
  • Mine arrived in my E.on account today too. Does anyone know if it will be refunded to my bank account automatically or if I will have to apply to E.on for a refund ? I need to use it to pay for LPG.
OVO customers appear to have had emails sent out saying that their AFP will be refunded to the account used to pay their direct debits but there has been no communication from E.on at all.

I think it's best to phone them, I've read a couple of posts recently that they are very responsive. I don't think it's automatic.

Mine has appeared in my Eon account today.  I'm on LPG and about to fill up, so most welcome!

It's supposed to be, for people who qualify based on postcode.

The applications are for those who use alternative fuels but either live in an area with mains gas, or an area off mains gas but where the predominant form of heating is electricity.

I suspect that you will need ask for a refund, if you want it as cash.  Since E.On are not one of the suppliers who set up an automatic refund system for the main,  £400,  part of the EBSS, I can't see them setting one up specifically for this one.

Sorry Spoonie, I think you misunderstood my reply to chipsmum, or it was ambiguous, he wrote ...

As it had arrived in his electricity account because he was a DD or pay on bill customer then he would need to request it be transferred to his bank account which should take 1-2 days according to recent posters.

From the E.On website Community forum:

    "

    How will it be paid?

    • Direct Debit / Receipt of Bill Customers - The £200 will be added to your electricity account
    • Prepayment Customers - Will receive a voucher for the £200
    • Smart PAYG Customer - Will receive the £200 direct on to their electricity meter.
    "
    ... thank you Apodemus.

Ohhhh you meant the refund not being automatic.  Sorry, yes I forgot the specific context and misunderstood.

Don't flood their telephone lines with unnecessary phone calls.

The first filtering is postcode.  That will be the quickest to get paid.  Additional filters will be run and payments may occur at different times.  Only if you haven't had yours by the deadline will you then need to make a manual request.

    Mine appeared today.
Credit dated the 12th by EON's systems.
    Mebbe I never checked yesterday?

I'll wait for next bill(s) when they change my faulty non-registering meter at the end of the month to see what happens wrt getting cash into my bank.
