My ultra fibre increasing by £3 a month

have 6 months contract left so considering just grin and bear it rather than sign another contract. But the issue is I hate 24 month contracts which most other providers seem to love, so I’m stuck with Sky if I want 18 month contract :(

might call up and see what they can offer

Thanks for the heads up, mine will go from £56 to £63 so 12.5%
Looks like mine is going up from £56 to £64  :D. Annoyed as I only took out new contract in Jan and now they slap a 14% rise after just 2 months.

I took out a new 18m contract in december so in theory could be hit with 2 price hikes. Just tried called customer service and got nowhere. My package inc Sig +£2, Sports +2, Netflx +£1. I asked if i could change package but was told they do anthing until December. Oh well not sure what else I can do. I asked how much penelty i would pay if i cancelled my contract now and she said £200.

Pure greed from sky! In a cost of living crisis and they still have price increases they could easily afford to offer fixed price contracts.

Glad I found this. Like others I'm disgusted the way sky treat customers.
I always scour the MSE forum for the latest sky deals/haggling successes and have recently renewed a month or so ago, and then get a letter to say its going up by £8 a month.
I know they say increases can be made during the contract, but there must be a cooling off period where no increases are allowed, or you can cancel said contract with no penalty?

The only get out clause is on broadband where you have 30 days to leave without penalty after a mid-contract price rise is announced, but good luck finding another ISP that doesn't have annual increases built in to their contracts.

I really don't understand the "disgust" element of comments, we are living in a period of high inflation and just about every company is increasing prices.

If you have just renewed your contract then you are subject to the Ts and Cs at renewal and if that allows a price increase then you are stuck with it.

Trouble is it's all 1 sided.
Purchase an 18 month contract for a set price, then they are allowed to put up prices at will with no escape.
End of contract, you must give 30/31 days notice to leave. Why? The contract has ended. Its all biased towards them.

They should only be allowed to offer 12 month contract with no price rises.

Your contract does not "end" after 18 months.  All that means is your existing deal/discount expires and you pay full whack for it from that point on, unless you pull your finger out and get a new deal.

The 31 day notice for Sky TV has always been there, its not a new thing.  You pay in advance.  That's why its there, so you cancel and it should (in theory) balance out payments wise at the end of that period.

The built-in increase has been there for years as well.  Not new.  What they "should" offer and what they "do" offer are two entirely different things.
