Octopus Tracker
I'm on the Octopus tracker but confused on the info i get from them. In the pic below
I assumed the rate I paid was 24 .81p/kwh Elec and 6.22p/kwh Gas.
I'm not getting info via the app yet as i've only been on it a week.
I really don't understand The "Today's Octopus Tracker costs" of Elec £3.76 and Gas £8.59
Can anyone enlighten me please?

Best to take no notice of "Today's Octopus Tracker costs"redjumpa said:I'm on the Octopus tracker but confused on the info i get from them. In the pic below

The rates on your dashboard you displayed are correct.2 -
In my experience the 'today's costs' have been an estimated projection, based on that day's unit rate and (for us without a smart meter) their estimate for what your typical day's usage might be.
For a normal day it's not usually terribly inaccurate for us, but also as a projection it cannot take into account reality so I just ignore it.1 -
Tracker was introduced before smart meters. Octopus doesn’t have physic powers so any estimated costs need to be taken with a large pinch of salt. Like you: I take no notice of what the App is telling me other than the daily unit price.Spoonie_Turtle said:In my experience the 'today's costs' have been an estimated projection, based on that day's unit rate and (for us without a smart meter) their estimate for what your typical day's usage might be.

If I understand correctly Octopus doesn't even read your Smart Meter more than once a day, so their "usage today" figures can only be a wild guess.

Excuse my ignorance, I tried emailing Octopus but I keep getting the same inexperienced advisor who just send me to a non existing link.
I have been with Octopus for the past 4 years both gas and electric meters are smart, at present I am on Octopus Go and flexible gas tariff.
On the 3rd March we change over to Octopus ECO7 for electric but my gas stays on flexible, we have solar panels and a solar battery and have registed our interest with Octopus Flux tariff.
Can I change my Octopus gas flexible tariff to Octopus Tracker without effecting my electric account?

In a word the answer is Yes, but they have now put restrictions on new applicationsOscarmax said:

I called them and got onto the flexible tariff on the same day, but that was in January this year.
If you call them they may put you onto a waiting list, but it’s worth giving them a try0 -
All done thank you for your helpbristolleedsfan said:
