  • Yes very possible that the price of a relatively cheap plane ticket is 75% taxes.

The only thing to check is whether ALL of those taxes are fully refundable.
  • Thanks. I’ve tried asking them but they’re refusing to tell me. I shared that exact image with them and they said “we can’t predict your refund”. Everything they’re doing feels shady

with most/all(?) airlines the fuel charge is not refundable so it will be some/all of the €75.39
  • Thanks for clarifying. Not looking good on the money front.

I am still pleading with the airline to move my flights, but they are being very very difficult. My flights were around 450 EUR, I have seen some in September for 600 EUR. Of course, I´d be happy to pay the difference, but they are requesting I rebook through their system, where the exact same flights are closer to 3000 EUR.

I do wonder if that's a breach of contract - according to my fare conditions I can rebook, but by their own admission there are discrepancies with the rebooking system. I have asked for a voucher to rebook as an alternative and they've said no.

Did you book direct with them ?

It's a few years since I've used TAP but never had issues with them but that doesn't explain why the EUR3k fare is the only one suggested. If you're not getting anywhere with call centre then, unless any of the more knowledgeable contributors can add specifics for TAP I'd be starting on social media to look for guidance/support

It's very unlikely that they'll offer you a voucher for future travel - they'll be wanting a confirmed booking to switch to

Yes, I booked directly with them.

I have sent them screenshots of the exact flights we are happy to change to (which are around 600 EUR to buy new) and we are getting nowhere. Even if they gave us a voucher which had to be used within six months would be a fair compromise in my opinion. Just they are not budging at all, really seems good customer service is dead on their part.
