Lcwra back pay?

Can someone help me please?

I first submitted a fit note on the 2nd of July but it was from 29th of March until the 29th of june, I then never submitted another until the 29th of July, I’m saying this because I didn’t report a health change until 25th of July because I was never told to do so until then. Can someone help me here please? I’ve recently been awarded lcwra and am very very confused on when they will backdate my money from? Will they go off the first fit note even before I reported a change? Or will they go off of the second fit note being from July? My heads baffled with it .

It's unlikely they will accept a backdated fit note to 29th March but it will be down to a decision maker to make that final decision. They may go from the first fit note but again it will be down to a decision maker to decide that. I'm surprised the fit note was accepted if you didn't first report your health condition.

The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods and the extra money is then paid from the 4th month after your first reported your health condition, supported by a fit note within 7 days of that.

What dates are your your periods (or what date do you usually receive your money each month?)

Hi thanks for the reply, to be very clear I don’t think my fit note was accepted from March as the system wouldn’t allow me to upload it for a previous date& I just typed it on there? They’ve logged it from 29th of June - 29 July, I never reported a health condition until the 25th of July but since have had continuous fit notes. Will they backdate me from June’s fit note? My assessment period is 18th-17th. Thank you for the help my mind is rather baffled at the minute.

If they go from when you report your fit note which was in June/July AP then your waiting period will be. July/Aug, Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct.. LCWRA element starts from AP Oct 18th to Nov 17th and first payment would be 24th November. June/July AP doesn't count because you reported it part way through the AP.

Would it matter if my dates on sick notes didn’t match? Meaning In October I uploaded a fit note backdated to September as I had an accident then & the doctor added that to the note? It went from 15th sep to 15th December but before this it was just been July - October Does this matter or is it a case of as long as I’ve had no gaps in my fit notes regardless of the switch up in dates? Thank you.

Does it matter if the dates on my fit notes didn’t match? Meaning my first one was 29 June - 29 July. Then 29 July to 29th of October. But I uploaded another on 24th of October but this one was 15th September - 15th of December the reason for this was my doctor added a new health condition but added it from September. The fit note after that is 14th December - 14th of March this year. I’ve worded it much better here, will any of this effect me getting back pay? Or am I alright as they’ve had fit notes covering me all months regardless of what dates they are? Thank you.

Very odd for GP to predate a Fit Note - they usually refuse to do that. The Fit Notes are continuous so that should be fine.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

My GP done this because I had an accident that day & broke bones etc in my foot and they are very good with me. So can I expect as it stands two months of backpay for lcwra or am i wrong ? Thank you

Thank you for the clarification. I was awarded lcwra on the 9th of this month, I don’t suppose you have some kind of idea how long the back pay takes do you please? And if I wasn’t paid my backpay before the 18th (end of ap) then would I be owed another month as well? Thank you
  • There is no time frame for the calculation, unfortunately.  Having had the decision, you should get this month's LCWRA included in your next UC payment.  If not then yes it will be owed.

When they calculate the backpay, they will overwrite all the relevant statements from when it was first payable. If you want to keep a copy of the original statementsfor any reason you should do so quickly, before they are overwritten.  (Without a time frame there's no way of knowing when they'll do it.)
