Assessed measured Water Tariff

Following Martin’s suggestion in a recent article, to apply for an Assessment of water usage at my house -when it was not possible to have a water meter fitted, I contacted Anglian Water.
Whilst I have a 3 bedroomed house, I am a sole occupant. Anglian water cannot fit a water meter as the internal stop !!!!!! cannot be made operational without digging up my back garden and patio. I requested an Assessment and my annual bill has been reduced from £330 - new tariff , to £143 annually. What a saving and so easy to do. Thank you!

Thats a good rate. I live on my own in a one bed flat on a meter, very careful with water use and pay £12 per month0

I contacted my supplier, Severn Trent, and am a bit concerned as they are sending someone out and insist a meter will be possible. I have a Victorian terraced house with shared supply and they are confident somehow it will be possible. I fear not just for the garden and paving but also for my very small kitchen. I am now having regrets! Was your supplier happy not to dig things up for a meter? I worry they may be insistent and I’ve started something I will regret.0
