My wifes Baleno appears to have a blocked windscreen washer filter - but I can't see where it is
Water doesn't come out of the nozzles - although the bottle is full
its not blocked nozzles - we've pricked them out and besides - its both at the same time
Any help ?

If there is a filter it's often on the fluid reservoir itself, by where the outlet pipe is. There may not be a filter at all. When you activate the screen wash, you should be able to hear the motor. If you can't, then it could be an issue with the motor itself - or possibly something as simple as a blown fuse.If you can hear the motor and the filter (if fitted) is clean, then it could be the tubes themselves that are blocked. I'm not familiar with that particular car, but usually it's not too difficult to remove the hoses and give them a clean out.Hope this helps.1

There is a non return valve in the little Y shaped splitter that joins the two pipes from the nozzles to one. These often get over enthusiastic and cut off the flow completely. On my woeful Renault Nissan I managed to pull the round cap off the valve and removed the diaphragm, spring and little rubber doings that acts as a valve, put it back together and it works perfectly. I sort of expected a delay when using the squirter as the point of the valve is to stop the pipes emptying back into the tank, but I don;t notice one.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Could it be frozen, in which case you need different washer fluid0

I can hear the pump and it seems to be struggling - water does come out for a fraction of a second - it sort of splutters then stops completely

there is a filter below where the pump plugs into the washer bottle

Pull the single pipe off that Y splitter, point it where you can see and operate the pump, you should get a jet of water, if you do, sort out the Y piece. If you get a dribble, look for a kink in the pipe and then clods of gunk in the washer tank.

Try a couple of Steradent tablets - they can break down any sludge in the bottle.1
