Escalated to a formal complaint.  Watch this space.

UPDATE:  Capital One upheld my complaint after finding my account details and made a £50 compensation payment - winner winner chicken dinner!

However, they also said "the £76.70 refund from 2nd February was rejected and sent back to Ticketmaster's Acquiring Bank on 6th February" and "we can't accept the refund on this account that was closed on 14th November 2019."  

So now I'm back where I started.  I've written to Ticketbastard again, explaining the situation and asking them to contact me to refund me in an alternative way.

Anyone else made any progress?
