..After 5 years and 4 months of bullying and extortion tactics by UKPC (and a week before I am due to submit my witness statement) -  I have my discontinuation..

We act for the Claimant in the above matter.  Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find enclosed the Claimant’s N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records.  

The attached has also been filed with the Court.  

We will now proceed to close our file accordingly.

DCBL phoned me once to kindly 'offer' to settle and I eagerly declined explaining I was looking forward to my day in court because they didn't stand a chance.  Like others, in the end they chickened out to avoid being out of pocket..

So many thanks to everyone on here for your expert advice and support through the process.  I am very glad to have held out to avoid giving them a penny!  For those still on the journey - stick with it - it's worth it in the end!

Please please (please) do this and give the Government your evidence - the horrific series of frightening £170 demands and the court claim after FIVE YEARS - and tell them how receiving extortionate 3 figure threats and then wasting your time defending a court claim (that you knew DCBLegal would discontinue when you refused to blink) actually feels:

Make sure you attach the £170 debt demand letters and the DCB crap to provide evidence.

Obviously state at the start of your email response to the DLUHC that you are a consumer and are answering Question 4.

The added £60 or £70 on top of an already very high penalty (for doing nothing wrong) makes people less likely to settle the matter and was the reason that DCBLegal got their clutches on the case.  They file almost 100,000 inflated claims per annum and 90% just go straight through to default CCJs.  That looks like extortion to reasonable people. This worst aspect of the whole business - the +£70 funded bulk claims that just end up discontinued when defended - should surely be made illegal.

Add that you want your evidence to help inform the DLUHC to confirm the decision to ban the added 'fee' that is nothing to do with debt resolution, but all about funding and driving cases on a 'conveyor belt to court' so that the likes of DCBLegal can make multi-millions.  In some ways the real problem isn't the parking firms.
