From OVO on the alternative fuel payment

As part of HM Government's energy support this winter, we're sending you your £200 Domestic Alternative Fuel Payment in February 2023. This is being given to eligible customers in Great Britain who use alternative energy sources to heat their homes, like oil, coal, liquified petroleum gas (LPG) or biomass, in recognition of the pressures caused by the rising costs of those fuels.
You'll get your payment automatically, so you don't need to get in touch, apply for it - or pay it back. The exact time and way you get your payment will depend on how you pay for your energy.
For the latest information on the payment, please visit our website.
If you pay by Direct Debit
You'll get your payment straight into your bank account as a refund. This means you'll carry on paying your full Direct Debit amount. We'll apply the payment to your energy account as a credit first, and then we'll automatically refund the payment to your bank account shortly after. If you cancel your Direct Debit, or your payment fails, there may be a delay in receiving your payment.
You'll be able to see your payment in your detailed bill, labelled 'Alternative Fuel Payment' and listed in the 'Summary of charges' section. The refund to your bank account will be displayed in the ‘Your balance' section.
If you pay when you get your bill
You'll get your payment as a credit to your energy account. You'll be able to see your payment in your detailed bill, labelled 'Alternative Fuel Payment' and listed in the 'Summary of charges' section.
If you top up with a smart Pay As You Go meter
We'll add your payment straight to your electricity smart meter as a credit.
We'll get in touch to confirm once we've added the credit. If we're not able to apply the payment to your meter, we'll send your payment in the post. See below for more information.
If you top up with a traditional Pay As You Go meter
You should receive your payment by post before the end of February and can redeem it in one of the following ways:
| ||
| ||
You'll need to redeem the vouchers by 30 June 2023. If you redeem them at a PayPoint, you'll need to show one of the following forms of ID: UK driving licence, bank statement, or a council tax bill. So it's really important the name on your account matches your ID. You can update your account via webchat. If someone else redeems the vouchers for you, they'll need to show both your ID and their own.
A cheque for the Alternative Fuel Payment will be sent instead of vouchers if we identify that you'll benefit from receiving your payment this way. We'll base this on how you usually top up, where you're located and how you receive your Energy Bills Support Scheme discount.
Please be aware, postal strikes may delay delivery of some vouchers and cheques. Rest assured, we're working to get your payment to you as soon as possible. There's no need to contact us. |

It is showing in my OVO account as a credit today. OVO have stated in an email that it will subsequently be paid into my bank account.
