If you look it up on floor plan symbols it defines a vent of some sort, wall or ceiling, my guess is still an appliance of some sort1

There are no standards for this sort of thing. If it matters to you, you'll need to ask the developer. And be prepared for them to change the plans anyway! But I would interpret them as being spaces for appliances.1

Fridge (and freezer) would fit with the general rule of the optimum kitchen arrangement having the sink, stove and fridge in a triangle around the room.
