I have no idea if my TV has a digital tuner in it. How do I find out?

I've done a load of research and have drawn a conclusion that Roku would be better than Firestick.
Virtually every TV produced in the last 15 years has a digital tuner included - is your TV older than that ??
  • You could put the model number in a search enginge and it will probably find the specs.  (Assuming you don't have any paperwork/manuals to hand)\

As brewerdave states unless it is a very old model then it will have a digital tuner.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

A Smart TV didn't become a thing until probably mid 2010s, but Freeview tuners/"digital tuner" have been in TVs since at least 2010, though Freeview receivers have been a thing in one form or another since 1998 when on Digital launched.

I currently pay around £30 per month for Sky broadband.
I bought a Roku for around £20 and use that to watch catch-up and streaming services so my only other ongoing costs are TV licence and subscription costs for netflix etc.

Agreed, more versatile and not brand or supplier limited

Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens
  • My TV:

    Bought March 2010 for £1200
    Philips 37PFL9604H
    37" Full HD 1080p digital TV, 1920 x 1080p, DVB Terrestrial*, DVB, Ambi-light

I'll just add that I chose well. The TV has been faultless and is extremely high quality. It has the best sound I've ever heard from a flatscreen.

Question is - does it have a built in digital tuner?

Not really. One is enough. Also I need 250Mbps broadband minimum.

Goodness me, for someone who doesn't yet do streaming, that's a lot - we manage with 40Mbps
