Car purchase via dealer on Autotrader

Hi
I purchased BMW X1 2018 Reg yesterday from a dealer https://www.themotoringhub.com/
Drove around 150miles to have a test drive, was told everything is perfectly fine, drove back home perfectly fine.
However, this morning went to drive off locally and its showing the engine warning light…I don’t know yet that how big or small the issue is.
I have messaged the seller but since its Sunday so not expecting a response.
The 2yr warranty by them was also agreed to be sent on Monday(tomorrow).
can anyone please advise me that how should i take this further? Its not possible for me to drive it back 150miles to get it checked. What are my rights and how can I resolve it ?
It was my hard earned money, can’t afford to take such a big blow in this financial crunch time….feeling really upset.

What are the terms of the warranty? Dealer-based or insurance-based? Most aftermarket warranties exclude almost everything on the grounds of wear and tear, they're really not worth anything at all. Better to rely on your rights under CRA 2015.
If the dealer wants to inspect and correct the EML fault then it's your responsibility to get the vehicle back to him-you chose to buy from such a long distance, so not his problem. But they might agree to having it checked at a local garage; it could be something completely trivial.
Presumably a car that new came with a full service history, which you checked?
How did you pay for the vehicle: any credit card protection?
If you have driven the car today and the engine warning light is on, then I'd think it would be very unwise to even attempt to drive it back around 150 miles to the dealer. The car should be fit for purpose, as described and last a reasonable length of time - see info in link below, from this very site -

There's also some good info in this link -

And here's what auto-trader has to say about it all - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/content/guides/returning-a-car
Don't despair, all is not lost because you do have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (as explained in the two links above), as well as the dealer's own two year warranty. So you are fully covered.
See what they say when you phone, you've done all you can for now.
If they insist on you returning it to them, get it to a local garage to get the codes read, so at least you'll know if it's something trivial that can be driven 150 miles on, or not.
P.S. Don't get your hopes up after reading the previous poster's comments. Their habit is to post sympathetic stuff that people want to hear, rather than solid, informed advice.
spoke to dealer and he has advised for diagnostics at local garage.now will have to wait patiently till Thursday.
Dealer has been cooperative so far.
I paid via debit card so i don’t think payment will be protected by the bank
Do you think I should inform auto trader at this stage or should wait for diagnostics?
