Hi,
I am on a very low income and I was able to get a phone and broadband package from Virgin Media that I could afford on the condition that all the calls were free from my landline.
They agreed and they sent me a contract saying I get "Anytime Chatter" which they assured me means Free Calls any time.
They already overcharged me £25 within a week of the new contract, for phoning the Virgin Customer Support(!) which I finally got a refund for, but I had to spend nearly two whole days on the phone for this to happen.
But now they have charged me £7 for phoning my local council housing repair line where I was waitiing for over 90 minutes. I checked my account and it's not as if they have a record of Free calls only on weekends or something. It's right there in my account in black and white that I am on the "Anytime Chatter" tarrif. And a call to my own town is not some obscure number. This should be free.
This is exactly why I have to have free calls even on weekdays, as you never know how long you can be kept waiting. And this is the second time I have been charged for something I should get for free.
What can I do to stop them keep over charging me?
Thanks

If you look in the terms and conditions you will see that “anytime chatter” calls are for 60 minutes only. As you were on the phone for 90 minutes you have been charged for the extra 30 minutes1

That's a relief.
I guess I now have to use my mobile phone to call Call Centres or automated systems.Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?1 -
At 24p a minute that quickly adds up.
Also note premium numbers are also excluded so some 08 numbers.
If you have unlimited calls on your mobile definitely best to use that1
