Eon next - end of EPG in April
Now I'm looking at a kWh price of 66.55 and with the EPG ending in April ,I'm going to be considerably worse off.
Has anyone asked to move back to their fixed tarrif with this in mind? I know it was an option when they first changed the tarrif, but wondering if anyone has recently changed back to their original fixed tarrif?

The new EPG rate from April will likely be discounted to around 42-45p kWh. My own calculations suggest 43p kWh so you won't be worse off.2

Pretty sure Eon.Next have said that if the capped price increases above your fixed, they will automatically move you back. Can't lay my hands on the message where they say that though... Somewhere on their customer forum perhaps ?Upzeecreek said:Last Sept 22, I moved onto a fix ( Next online v18) with a kWh price of 51.762. 1st Oct, Eon next decided that they would move me onto Next flex. The savings were minimal but I went along with it.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Yes, I remember the same. I think it came up in one of the threads. Eon did move everybody on a fix higher than EPG to SVT without asking them.FreeBear said:

But that was for those who did not ask to be put onto the SVT, like the OPs situation seems to be. I doubt it will be also the case if somebody moved actively to SVT.1 -

This is not correct. E.ON applied a discount to those fixed tariffs for which a reduction of up to 17p/kWh (electricity) would bring the rate down to the EPG. It was those on a fixed rate where 17p did not bring the rate down to the EPG where E.ON moved the customer to Next Flex, and then applied the 17p reduction. I am on Next Online 15, suitable discounted down to the EPG. I am looking forward to the 1 April, which isn't the end of the EPG, but is the date when the EPG changes to a nominal £3,000 pa. I wonder what will happen.

Thanks for all the replies. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.0

Sorry, got the terminology rather muddled.Scot_39 said:Upzeecreek said:Last Sept 22, I moved onto a fix ( Next online v18) with a kWh price of 51.762. 1st Oct, Eon next decided that they would move me onto Next flex. The savings were minimal but I went along with it.

I guess the gist if what I've posted still stands as the EPG from April will be more than I would be paying had I remained on my fix.0 -
Why do you think it will be more is 43p kWh more than your fix rate?Upzeecreek said:

Well the fix was 51p/ kWh but my latest bill is showing 66.55p/ kWh. I'm presuming I won't get any money towards that from April. So would I not be better off asking to go back on the fix from April ?Mstty said:

No, the EPG from April will give you the discount to bring it down to the EPG level.Upzeecreek said:
