We removed the mattress bit to make it lighter then it fit through on its side by taking one arm of the L shape through and then rotating it. Good luck OP!

Hope the absence of update isn’t because Sofabed is blocking OP’s exit route.

Oh no. Not tried it yet. Will update when we do. Will be a while as there's work going on. Thanks for all the help and I'll let you know if I get stuck.
  • Just to clarify there is no window that is wider than the door? As usually you can just take the plastic part on the inner off to remove the glass pop sofa through then place back on.

That's a good idea, might contact M&S. The frame is quite bulky and the door small. Scared of ruining the mechanics of it. Obviously we got it in place through normal size doors. Would rather pay someone to do it. Husband and I not really able to do it ourselves. It's sort of spring loaded. It's been a very good sofa bed. Maybe look at taking the backrest off.
Which model of sofa is it?  Is it fairlly recent (last 10 years)Most M&S sofas are made by Westbridge (they have Factory shops in North Wales and Stoke). As they make to sofas and also deliver the sofas locally from the factory shop they migh be best placed to give advice about awkward access

Doorway is 70cm(after taking door off) wide and 193 high. Settee under covers atm. But roughly 146cm long x 73cm high x 83 cm front to back. And heavy because of mechanics of the bed. Is it doable?
Is the 73cm high the height of the backrest with cushions removed?   What is the height of the arms?  As suggested above, stand it on its end, with the front of the sofa going through the doorway first. Provided the door has free space all around it, as the sofa is half way through the door you should be able to swerve the front of the sofa sideways (as Ross from friends would say: 'Pivot') so the back feet go through the door way next, and then finally the top of the back rest can go through.

THat makes perfect sense to me but is probably gibberish to everyone else

No it's much older than that. We've decided to have a go ourselves but the room is not ready yet. Will update when we do.

If there is work going on, that to me would indicate 'workers' ask them to move it, tea and biscuits will normally help. :)

(I got my plumber and plumber's mate to move a 4 draw filing cabinet, up a small step, job done in about 2 mins)

Shame there’s no accompanying video, or pictures. Am still perplexed that OP cannot get this through the door 🤔
