visidigi said:Its not a big deal item missing, but whether its a screw or an engine - if it doesn't comply with the specification it was shipped with I have the right to reject - it doesn't change my legal right to rejectYou need to be aware that this is incorrect. A fundamental part of UK law is the concept of "De Minimis" which basically means that the courts will not allow you to exercise any rights over trivial issues. In your example of a screw missing you would of course 100% fail but I'd go further and wouldn't rate your chances very highly over a couple of accessories worth a few hundred quid against a £30,000+ car, especially as the dealer has made efforts to replace them.

TBH.
I would be driving the car to them to reject if that is what you want. Nothing like face to face to sort problems.
While they should pick it up, is it worth the stress etc.
>Day 10 - paid for detail. Paint damage found and reported (at first rinse a touch up job came clean off the car)<
I know that some paint repairs they take a while to cure.
But did dealer do the repair? Given you mentioned that it was "there was no advert as it had just come in and not gone through the listing process."Life in the slow lane0 -
So given the age of the car was it bought under the 'Approved used' scheme (or whatever the marque you've bought calls it ?) or did the dealer bypass this (whether with or without your agreement) to get it out of the door - presumably before year-end given your timings ? If approved used then have you followed the complaints procedure for them ?
There are times when remote transactions/delivery can work and there are times when not. You're being elusive re the 'parts which may affect warranty' so not sure whether these are likely to be a reality or just your perception to escalate the issue ? If they're obviously aftermarket i.e. replacement/upgraded brake/suspension components then fair enough but of they're dealer fitted accessories/upgrades (or parts changed to keep it on the road in the absence of original parts) then there should be no issue - surely an underwriting from the dealer would overcome the concern
Fundamental remains that given the apparent rarity of the car if you do return it are you going to find another or do you just suck up the cost of the toolkit/paint etc and know you've got the car you want whilst vowing never to use the dealer group again ?0
