Designer item - not as original?

Just because the buttons were replaced does not make it a fake. It's just a coat that has been repaired.

Buy better buttons that you prefer and put them on the coat.1

Sounds like they know their rights as a seller.sunny241 said:Seller is private, not very responsive and dismissive. Does not answer direct questions. Just says it is what it is and was as described.0 -

The photo shows the buttons does it not? It would be a bit weird not showing the front of the coat
Don't suppose you have a picture of it do you? But it does sound like you got what you saw.
I assume you just didn't really take the buttons into consideration at the time. easy thing to do tbh.

I did have a close look at the photos but the pictures were not taken from up close. So the colour of the buttons matched. And they are round and black, that's all I could tell from picture which seemed right. To be honest it hasn't crossed my mind someone would go through replacing all buttons if lost one etc, there are a lot of them lol.bris said:The photo shows the buttons does it not? If the seller knew they were replaced or did that themselves it would make sense why pictures were taken they way they were because can't really tell. Having it in hand it's obvious.0 -

I don't care so much about the branding on the buttons. Its more that the replacement ones are simply ugly. The coat is military style with small round classic black buttons. Its almost like its feature. The ones put on it are tacky, with like diamond cut, very cheap plastic and they stick out.
I may just need to replace them although have no idea about sewing buttons on. And there are like 28 of them on the whole coat. So it will be big job lol

My local dry cleaners also has an alterations service.0 -
Unless the advert states that the item is in original condition, I don't think you can do much about it. You state that the photo shows the actual buttons which are on the item so there has obviously be no attempt to deceive either. Wear it. I doubt anybody will realise or care about minor repairs.
