The prices of used TM3's seems to have firmed up a bit in the past week - I wonder whether that is because of the monthly cycle.
Maybe the rot has stopped. There are still 14 listed under £27k today, including a 2020 Long Range at £26,799 at Car Giant.

Tesla has now put the PCP interest rate back to 7.9% putting the monthly price for a 3yr/10k miles deal with £6k deposit up to £758 for the MY and £716 for the M3. The equivalent monthly cost if the £6k deposit were spread evenly over the 36 months is £924.67 for the MY and £882.67.

On top of this is the £200 deposit payable on ordering which makes the total amount paid £33,488 for the MY and £31,976 for the M3. Per annum that’s £11,162.67 and 10,658.67 respectively.

If you go for the MY Long Range the monthly payment goes up to £811. Spreading  the deposit over 36 months takes the cost/month to £977.67, the total cost up to £35,396 and cost per mile to 98p approx.

They are aspirational products, not good cars or financially sensible. Plenty of other long range EVs with much better deals, and overall much better cars.

Do you think so? I would think a TM3 or TMY has got to be up there as one of the best EV package available. The Super charger network negating any range anxiety, the tech is second to none, the comfort and practically and styling.
Give me a Tesla over the equivalent priced Nissan,Vauxhall, Renault, Kia etc any day.

Yes, in some countries where the public charger network is quite poor, like the UK and US, Tesla's allow for concern free travelling over very long distances. If using the motorway network (the typical choice for long distances), then no pre-planning is needed whatsoever. Simply choose a SC station from the satnav map, which will tell you how many chargers there are, and how many are currently available. If you select that site, your nav will take you there, and also precondition the battery (warm it or cool it) once you get closer, to maximise charging speed.

Price wise similar to VW, with the Tesla 3 similar price to the ID3, and the ID4 sitting about midway between the TM3 and TMY (actually, the ID4 if you want a bit more range and power, is priced about the same as the TMY) ...... of course the Tesla prices may have changed again by the time I post this.  ;)

I do however have a big soft spot for the MG BEV range. Yes they are more basic (cheap), but they are also cheaper, and seem to be good VFM.

Good news for others, is that Tesla is slowly opening up its charger network to other users. I actually have a neighbour / dog walking friend who has an E-tron. Recently due to building work, he couldn't plug hs car at home before a long trip, so he joined the Tesla scheme, and charged up in the morning at the Cardiff SC station. Apparently it was very easy, no probs.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Other cars can use superchargers now, but the network isn't as good as the alternatives anyway in a lot of places.

The 3 is a very cramped car, definitely try it before you buy. The design is crap too, looks minimal but horrible to use.

Oh and the Y is really loud. I presume the 3 is as well. The pedestrian warning noise is obnoxious and carries quite far. We know our neighbour's ever coming and going because of their Y.

There are so many good alternatives for the same or less money now.

I am looking around for what EVs there are locally and came across this 2022 iD4 with around 3k miles for £30,990.

Just as a comparison to the Model Y PCP prices I have been quoting recently this works out at £393.32 per month or £560/month spreading the deposit over the term. Total payable over 3 years £20,159.52. That’s based on 11.75% interest which is higher than what Tesla are offering. OK, it’s not brand new but quite a saving.

Edit 2: for comparison the deal from VW on a new iD4 is shown below. The basic monthly payment is £500.06, or £652.83 spreading the deposit over the term of the PCP which makes a total payable of £23,502 or 65.3p/mile.
