Which stick/box that will pause /record?

TV Advice wanted please - so confused by options. We had Sky Q boxes in 2 rooms, have now reduced to £10 per month for Sky Essentials in my room - free off air and can pause/record.

In Husbands room we have a old Sky HD plus box, uses different LNB on dish. We could spend about £50 for hybrid LNB so we can also have off air channels in 2nd room but no pause/record.

OR we could just buy him a stick or box. Ideally he wants to pause/record, he likes Discovery/Nat Geographic type of programmes. Not sport or films. Hoping to pay about £60 max, but just wondered what is best option in our case please? Any advice much appreciated.

You're unlikely to be able to pause on a stick.

If you get a stick the offerings are all around on demand, so recording won't be an option.

Easiest solution is a Freesat box to replace the Sky box, since you can't record on the Sky box without an active subscription anyway.
