So this one? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6333989/mse-parking-ticket-appeals-guide-feedback#latest
Sorry - it's really not that obvious. Can't someone just make a sticky announcement called something like "Bookmark me for Government Public Consultation updates"?1 -
We aren't allowed any more stickies. We have more already than any other MSE board and still (in about half the cases we handle) people don't read them!
Also you can't have a short-lived sticky about a one-off thing relevant in Spring 2023 only. Sticky threads are permanent advice threads.
You can see it's that one because it says so (when you read the 2022 posts on it) and it's obviously not the other one by MSE JC! There are only two.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
GoodParker said:@Coupon-mad - I will certainly add my voice to any consultation, but (sorry for being a numpty) I don't know where to find "the thread by MSE_JC at the top of the forum" - where is "the forum"? I do think it needs to be easier to find the right post to bookmark...0

Any legal bods that can advise? Is there any way that a Class Action could be brought against PPS? They have knowingly persevered with cases with information at their disposal (whitelist of VRMs, photo stills of vehicle entering and leaving and often the parking receipt itself) which supports drivers who have paid to park.0

On the 10/01/2024 I parked at this car park in Hope Cove. There was no one else parked there but us.
Similar to previous posts on the subject.
I received letter from PPS telling me I had to pay £60.
I have appealed, only today receiving a letter that it was not successful, so it is going to the IAS next.
I was wondering if any of you paid the £15 the IAS require, as I will not.
As they say it was human error that the machine only captured the first letter of my Reg.
I have the ticket, we paid £2 by contactless.
The machine would not allow us to move on to the duration screen until I had put my Reg in.
I required 2 hours. We paid, it printed the ticket.
We did not stay the full time.
I also do not like the photo they have taken of us driving in, it rather encroaches on my privacy.
I will be arguing that point too.
I will not pay this, I will let it go to court as previous messages have stated.
I think also I will take all paper work to the police, as I am sure PPS are aware, especially after at least 3 years and I have read these cases happening from this car park on this site and Facebook, where the Reg is not being successful placed in during this time frame, so it is a stronger case of being a machine error.
They are trying to extort monies from me illegally. Committing a fraud and scamming members of the public who innocently just want to park and enjoy a walk around Hope Cove, on a winter's day.
I do not know who this couple is that own the car park land, but they are receiving monies from this, and again I will include them in my point raising it in court if it comes to that.
It was my first time there, and last!

@Wizawaz, when reading the NEWBIES thread you will see that it is definitely not a good idea - indeed it is a terrible idea - to pay £15 for the IAS appeal.
If you have any further queries can I suggest you start a new thread?
Trying to deal with more than one incident in a single thread will only lead to confusion.3 -
@Wizawaz, I went all the way to court against PPS and lost. They hired a slick barrister and the judge decided, in her wisdom, that multiple people per day (evidenced across multiple victims on different days) entering a single letter of their Reg was 'clearly human error' and therefore deserving of a penalty charge. I know of other PPS cases where the judge said "You paid, that should have been the end of the matter" and found for the defendant. So going to court appears to be a lottery. If you do decide to go to court, PM me for some useful information.2

In my case the judge said that the signage at this car park did not state that having a VRM successfully logged was a required condition of parking. Therefore I won without having to get further into my witness statement. If you do go to court it might be worth including that. It does not say in any signage that the VRM is printed on the ticket, so there is no way of knowing they do not log the VRM either. In addition the machines are not fit for purpose as it should not be possible to proceed with a single characer (if the VRM being recorded was a condition of parking - although the judge stated it was not a condition).2

@g1871 my elderly parents are being taken to court on 19/3 by premier parking. They paid the £1 parking fee, entered their registration but accidentally put an extra digit. The machine printed the ticket with the extra digit. They stayed less than the time paid for. They received demands for non payment. They have sent proof of payment as my father kept the ticket but are still being taken to court. The final letter received from them has now changed to reason being about the invalid vehicle registration. Can they do this? I am helping my parents with a statement to read in court. Please can you or anyone on here advise of what we need to put in this statement. As far as I’m concerned, they paid, they have proof and you can tell that it’s the right registration of their car albeit 1 digit out.Thanks0
