Hello friends, I am a mum of three and want to find an affordable gcse maths tutor. My daughter really struggles with maths and I'm not a good teacher either. Maybe you have some recs who will not break my wallet and are experienced too

I asked my son's college Maths teacher if they had any recommendations. They suggested a teacher who had just retired. I also asked on social media and got a number of suggestions. Maybe also look at some of the agencies, the rates there vary massively, depending on the teacher's experience. You could also ask your local teacher training organisation if they know anyone.MichAnd123 said:Hello friends, I am a mum of three and want to find an affordable gcse maths tutor. I would, however, ask your daughter's school for help in the first instance.0 -
As a teacher I would say try to find local recommendations if possible rather than just asking the internet - I know of a number of students who have tutors who over promise and under deliver. Your child’s teacher should be able to give a realistic guide of what they could achieve with additional support of a tutor.1

As above contact the school/maths teacher first (if you haven't already). Are they year 10 or year 11 (or younger) (if year 11 school will presumably be starting revision soon?MichAnd123 said:Hello friends, I am a mum of three and want to find an affordable gcse maths tutor. How much independent study/homework does your daughter do? Obviously without knowing your daughter's 'level' this may not be all shes needs and additional support may be needed.0
