17 Year Old travelling to South Korea this summer, best card to use?

Hi, as the title says my son has been fortunate enough to be chosen to go to South Korea and the World Scout Jamboree. He's going to need some spending money, a few hundred pounds at the most. I'm not keen on him taking cash. He's 17 so won't be able to have a card of his own (aprt from his bank card) just wondering what the optimum way would be for him to spend some of his money!

Some of the best options for 'travel' debit cards allow accounts for age 16+, such as Starling Bank, Monzo, I think Revolut now do but their customer service is awful nowadays. I'm not sure about Chase UK. Avoid the cost and hassle of prepaid 'currency' cards. Take at least two cards to use, his current bank card will serve, albeit probably with some fees.

Minimum age for Chase UK is 18.
