Crazy Electricity Bills £1K+

Hi,
I appreciate that energy bills are high these days but this is just getting silly. Some background:
We build our house about 5 years ago, we have an air source heat pump which does all heating, we only have electircity as there is no gas in the village. Our house is 5 bed but I wouldn't consider it massive. I've had people come out to look at the ASHP but nothing has ever stopped massive electricity bills in the winter. I have no idea where to turn next. Does anyone else have massive bills when running an air source heat pump?
Help!
Thanks
Keith

Crucial information is what your usage is in kWh and over what period (annual is best, although a record over the year would be useful).0
-
£1k+ for what period? Based on estimated or actual usage? Does the cost tie up with your readings?0
-
Is that the DD monthly cost or the actual cost per month on meter readings?Life in the slow lane0

I was going to put some effort into a reply but thought I would checkout the OP only other post in 2019
They don't exactly seem to return but even back in 2019 £3K a year

Please save us the effort of dragging info out of you bit by bit as it makes it really difficult to give you any hints or tips without know what you've got and how its set up and how you use it.
you need to give us a lot more info, what have you got, make, model, rads, underfloor, what controls, how are they set, flow rates, hot water temperature, programmer and controller settings etc.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
If the notification settings are set to e-mail by default, then sometimes posters can see replies without ever coming back here. But in this case nobody can help without any further information.
If we had a monthly bill (actual usage) of £1k+ we'd be in deep, deep trouble - but if that were the amount for an annual bill we'd be over the moon ...0 -
I suspect it's quarterly, but, if it's another post and run, we shall never know...No free lunch, and no free laptop

In all fairness it's only been a few hours - if anyone is suspecting this is the case, give him chance!macman said:I suspect it's quarterly, but, if it's another post and run, we shall never know...

Indeed, but one visit in 13 years doesn't give me much confidence.Spoonie_Turtle said:

Well they did solve the first problem after 6 years by simply building a new house.0
