Is it a new build? because it's only usually newbuilds where you have to pay the £125 for the phone line. If it's EVER been connected before at some point, you shouldn't have to pay.
We had no strange light switches, but they did put the entrance phone in the middle of the large wall in the hallway, which would have been the perfect place for a large mirror!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Congrats, I hope you'll be very happy in your new home.
And never mind the light switches, it's when you realise you can't have all the lights on at once or they trip...(there's something seriously wrong with the electrics in this place lol!)They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Congratulations, I hope you are very happy in your new place!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

You should only have to pay £125 for a totally new line, but BT have started charging this fee for reconnecting existing lines where the phone line has not been live for a while. This is because BT have recently outsourced their domestic phone service to Openreach and in the process have lost records of which addresses have non-live phone lines. So the line may be physically there but "computer says no". I got charged £125 for taking over an existing BT line that had been dead for 18 months because the previous tenant had been on cable. As my landlord refunded this cost as part of the deal for me moving in, I have not pursued it but really "someone" should complain. There is a good deal of discussion on this over at the 'phones forum.0 -
