Yes. Less anything you owe for energy used to the date of the switch obviously. I did a switch to Octopus in October - it was easy and extremely quick. Ask around your friends and family for a referral code as suggested as this saves you and the referrer £50 off your bill.

E.ON Next also have a similar £50 referral/inducement,if considering going down that route.

"Major energy firm Eon has 'severe' customer service weaknesses, according to regulator Ofgem - but customers of all providers are affected.

An Ofgem review said Eon, which has 5.5million customers, had a 'very poor' record, with customers abandoning calls and long telephone waiting times.

The regulator added that this 'represented a severe deterioration in standards from when Ofgem previously analysed their performance'."

Nobody would be under any any obligation to stay with any of EDF, Eon Next, Octopus who are all offering £50 each refer a friend being as none of them are currently charging exit fees.

My comment is not any kind of endorsement merely that the referral is available, nothing more.
I disapprove of the whole referral/inducement setup and would never use one, fair play to those who do make good use of such things.
I am an E.ON Next customer for clarity and other than problems seting up an online account when transferred from Symbio have little to complain about,as ever others may have less successful interactions with the customer service department.
