Flybe flight refund

Hi I am confused to whether I can claim my return flight from Newquay to Manchester on 30th January. I booked via booking.com so it doesn't look like I can claim under the chargeback scheme on my credit card, (flight was under £100). There is an ATOL certificate attached to the booking.com flight, is this what I do, I contacted booking.com and they are generally terrible at engaging, they just said contact the airline. Sorry I am confused where to go! I had to pay a fortune to go home by train so it would be good to get some flight cost back.

Good news for you if you have an ATOL protected travel arrangement.

This might be worth a read.  https://www.caa.co.uk/atol-protection/make-an-atol-claim/making-an-atol-claim/

But this isn't an ATOL claim as such as the ATOL holder has not failed. It is the responsibility of the ATOL holder, in this case, Booking.com itself to refund you. Although they have a massive ATOL licence, 1.7 million passengers, I somehow doubt they have ever dealt with a failed airline before so you may find they have little understanding of their obligations.

It also doesn't help that they are not a UK-based company and operate from the Netherlands. Never book with a company like this for a simple short-haul point-to-point flight, you could have bought it for less directly from the airline, and made a straightforward chargeback against the card used

Perhaps you're confusing chargeback with section 75 protection?  S75 does only apply to items over £100 and doesn't apply when there are intermediaries involved, but neither of these restrictions applies to chargeback, so if other routes don't bear fruit then you should be able to charge back via your card provider.

Yes you can. You ask for a non receipt chargeback. Your CC will be well used to doing these for airlines.
As you booked via CC Atol will simply tell you to go to your CC. As they know someone else will pick up the tab, not them.
