    It’s clearly a mistake on your part, but it’s probably worth putting in a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service on the off chance they find in your favour. The problem is it’s difficult to see what the insurer has done wrong in this case.

    Hope they find the car.

    Before you do that you have to get a final response to a complaint with the insurer (or 8 weeks pass and no response).

    In all honesty, I'd probably take a punt as there is nothing to lose, but insurers have to pay large fees to the FOS for each complaint even if it's a hopeless punt. That cost is ultimately passed back to all of us in higher premiums to pay for all these fees. 
  • Just a further note to add…she has re taxed the vehicle 2 months ago?  
    Dvla insist you cannot t tax an uninsured car?

    As the car is also on finance, the finance company want the full amount repaid in full as a lump sum and soon.
