My 17 year old daughter is about to travel to South Africa. We would like her to take a prepaid card but are struggling to find one for under 18s. Is there one out there?

Prepaid currency cards are in general bad value with their fees and adverse rates, especially when you come to convert leftover funds back to GBP. It could be cheaper or minimally more expensive overall just to use a regular bank card with fees, converting to Rand when used. Or to save money she can open an account that has fee-free card use overseas such as Starling Bank.

Have you considered the Starling account designed for 17 year olds?
