Due to Covid all assessments that would have been face to face where carried out over the phone, The process building up to the assessment and the assessment itself is exactly the same (obviously you cant do the physical assessments over the phone).
`If its a full assessment the questions will be the same as a face to face assessment.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

Initially ( when they phoned me out the blue ) I told them to phone me back half an hour later when I got home which they did... and then arranged for a " pre assessment " the following week which I had. Phoning someone out the blue is called an unsolicited phonecall - especially when discussing someone's mental health or financesHillStreetBlues said:
To me it seems like they wanted a bit more info before they made a decision. By calling you they would have thought that you could supply that info then and then. As they didn't get the info then, they put you down for a assessment.venomx said:Got a telephone assessment soon. Are more people being assessed these days ? I've never had to have an assessment as such before - just the paper one to report any changes in circumstance
So I don't think it's down to more assessments, it's more likely down to you being to busy to take the call.
They then said after this, that I would have to have another assessment, of which they cancelled 2 hours before it was supposed to take place which I found seriously rude because I was preparing for it and then out of the blue cancelled it and rearranged it for another time.
They seem to think it's ok to constantly send me reminders in the post ( ive had about 5 reminders in the past 2 and a half weeks ) and constantly SMS messaging me.

The "pre assessment" which doesn't really exist. Was most likely them wanting some answers to questions to see if a paper based assessment could be completed. As you now need a proper assessment then they clearly couldn't get enough of information to complete the paper based assessment.venomx said:they cancelled 2 hours before it was supposed to take place which I found seriously rude
Cancellations do happen, especially if an assessor is off sick. Luckily you weren't on your way to an assessment centre when they rang to cancel. (this happened to me once)2 -
What I would do is have 2 phones to hand, one with a recording app.
Push record on first phone and turn loud speaker on the other.
Don’t trust them, to be honest I don’t trust anyone. 😜0 -
Had my assessment and I'd say it went well. The lady over the phone was actually quite friendly and helpful1

If all people refused to answer a few questions unless already arranged, it would make the back office staff's work easier and anyone they needed just a little information from would just go to full telephone assessment, line.
