Are Vodafone really that bad?

So with PSTN end date only next year I decided to look at options for upgrading my elderly mothers phone. She is completely tech phobic. I wasn't keen on swapping as PSTN is at least reliable and she doesn't use the internet. Since Vodafone looked like the best value option I completed a web application and got an email indicating that the order was in process. When I read that the PSTN deadline date had been put back until 2027 i started to have 2nd thoughts and called Vodofone to see it if was possible to cancel. Turns out the credit check had failed and nothing had gone through. Nobody bothered to ring up and check or follow up the initial order which is not a good sign. For my its a blessing in disguise since its feels like I have dodged a bullet. Safe to safe that if I go through this process again I doubt I will be looking at vodafone. Although their call centre was quick and responsive a lot of stuff just does not seem to work. I

I've tried to join their broadband twice over the years and had to cancel both times as they seem incapable of actually switching me. Never again.0
