Sky Social Tariff "no longer available"......???

Can anyone advise?  I have been with Sky since 2016 and am a VIP member but currently not in contract paying £45. Mostly because I haven't had the sense or energy to switch. Every time I try, they try to lock me in to a further contract and I just lose the will to live with all the negotiations as invariably it ends up being MORE expensive!!! I am a single parent on Universal Credit and have tried to switch to their Social Tariff a number of times. Today they have told me they are not offering this anymore, try again in 2 weeks, "I can give you a new contract for £36"... Is this even legal? Where can I go for help on this?
Thank you.

     Try another supplier.
Skys salesperson is just ignoring you and trying to get you into a new contract. Perfectly legal but not fair as they do offer a social tariff

But isn't that false information to say they are not offering it at the moment, if they have entered into a (government?) agreement to offer social tarrifs to people

You could try calling them out on it on social media? I have no idea how responsive they are on the likes of Twitter, but I suspect they wouldn't appreciate the publicity!

    Hi there,

    This doesn't sound good!

As far as we're aware, it does still offer this - although we'll check with it as well to make sure. It only launched it back in April last year. However, its social tariff only covers broadband and Sim-only and not TV. I suspect if you're a VIP customer that you have TV, is that right?

More details on its broadband tariff can still be found here:
    https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-social-tariff

Hope that's helpful and I'll post a reply from Sky once I have one.
    Thanks,
    MSE Chris.
