sounds fab!Soundgirlrocks said:DawnW Las Vegas much delayed trip because of covid. Orignally planned with friend to see them get married / then as driving holiday with a stop off at SIL and a few days in sin city but plans have changed again and now just the two of us and 2 weeks in Vegas. I'm not putting it passed OH for have a shot gun wedding whilst we are out there would certainly be very MSE! OH runs his own business so all expenses go through Amex flights were bough using air miles. It feels a bit OTT at a holiday (I'm more of a camping in scotland girl) but we have had a tough few years and we both had big birthdays this year.
Plan is to try and be as sensible as possible whilst not wasting the trip given how far we are traveling, definialy want to get out into the canyons. Squirrleing lunch from the breakfast buffet etc
Today- Homemade lunch (baked potato and coleslaw again)
- made a coffee at home to take on tube
- checked bank

Wow, have a great time @SoundgirlrocksHope you got more sleep @1LuckyLadyToday's small things:Checked banks - the monthly direct debits have gone out, but the payment for the new front door isn't showing yet. I will have to check back tomorrow.Dog walk, free exerciseDid the weekly shop at L*dl, then got OH to drop me off at work to sort some stuff in my unit. I walked back, collecting some meds from b00ts and popped into Mr W to get some ice lollies at GD's request (she wrote it on my notice board in the kitchen
) as L*dl didn't have any ordinary fruit ones, and to see if there were any bargains - don't laugh, there are sometimes! Got some reduced hot cross buns and some brie that wasn't reduced, but again, there wasn't any in L*dl. Plenty of exercise today at least!Stripped the bed off and washed the linen. Pegged it out on the line, and it mostly dried. Now finishing off on the airer by the wood burner. No heating needed until mid afternoon, when it felt rather chilly. When I turned it on, the thermostat read 16 degrees, which actually is quite chilly! It is off again now, as the stove is alight.Made a big stew in the SC, and a butternut squash soup, for future dinners and lunches. Did a stir fry for dinner tonight though, to use up various sad veg from the fridge.Massive washing up session after all that cooking, and the dishwasher went on as well
Not feeling great now, hoping that I am not getting the sick bug that DD and her family have had / got!1 -
This is a fab holiday checklist. From experience, I would add charge my kindle, my battery pack and make sure I have the right earbuds- I was super pleased with myself for downloading some books during a free audible trial, but hadn't realised that my comfy earbuds needed an adaptor to connect to my new phone!Soundgirlrocks said:Hi everyone,

Morning all, been awake again since 12.05am
and brain just wouldn't stop whizzing so I gave up at 4am and have come down for a cuppa and checked banking.
Todays plans might change depending on if I get any sleep!- print return label on reclaimed plain paper from rm surveys and post back to amzn
- print cex voucher ^^
- rm survey
- continue reading book from library via borrowbox
- go into town with hubby - quick walk by the sea for free exercise, pop into the library to return some audio books, maybe go to CEX, specsavers as he needs new glasses, co-op as i've a £1 off anything coupon and post office
- lunch back at home rather then eating out
- make some mash and grab a load of veg out of the freezer for a quick and easy chicken dinner
- share bath water
- heating off all day if we can (happy enough under fleeces in the nights)
- use dehumidifier water in the loo cistern
- look into swapping sim cards - ds1 isn't using his data so worth a look to see if we can get a better deal
Take care allSticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Have you heard of the app B0rrowbox? It's effectively a free library app for borrowing audiobooks - not sure how it works when you borrow them from an actual library, but the app allows you to simply browse and download without needing to go to the library. You just need your library number and pin to sign up.1LuckyLady said:- pop into the library to return some audio books
