Wonder how many people made rash decisions over a decade ago to sell up and rent in anticipation of a major house price crash and now regret it?
I can think of at least one

Thing is renting means you are at the behest of the landlord who if the media is to be believed are chucking in their rentals or asking considerably more rent.  You cannot do much to your rental and if things go wrong you will be waiting for the LL to fix.  Of course there are great landlords despite what a lot of people say but surely if you can afford to buy why wouldnt you?

Both my parents brought many years ago and have made a considerable profit on their houses TAX FREE.

I would like to have brought in London too but husband wasnt keen so we are further out in a very nice area but one day maybe we will move back.

And of course life has a funny way of getting its own back on you whilst you are waiting for something to happen.

That sounds ominous!  Has anyone's house not seen its share of troubles...?  :/

Why do you constantly mock this person. Everyone is entitled to their opinion? A forum is a place to have a constructive conversation and not argue down someone. If they are wrong, so be it, don’t mock them for it. :)
Always find comparables. You can ask, but you won’t always get what you want.

House prices are now falling as they were in 2008… A correction is happening - Jan 2023

Not only do they mock one individual but they also refer to anybody that has a contrary perspective in the same manner, even resorting to name calling, bit like playground bullies really.

I do feel it is this constant petty sniping and bullying that led to the debate house price sub-forum being closed down.

On the subject of mistiming stuff, I put my hand up to getting the house on the market too late. Obviously things were going to go bits up sooner or later. But what with one of us having major, scary and highly unpleasant surgery which still has consequences, me having to stop work, and then the lockdown, it took until now to sort it out. We had a more positive viewer on Sunday who seemed to get the house so maybe things will work out yet. Maybe!

Hands up here too, if only we had made up our minds earlier in the year. Hindsight is a pain, isn't it.

Wishing you the best of luck with your latest viewer.
