The house was built in the 1930’s. Do you really still expect them to keep a stock of bricks from almost 100 years ago?

They may know what make the bricks are, plus it depends how big their yard is, they may even know if one of their homes have been demolished

A phone call is better than nothing, they don't know anything till they ask.

You will find bricks in modern builders merchants, they are called reclaimed brick possibly from more than 200 years ago
  • The builders are not still going unfortunately but I think the company is still live for legal reasons. We sometimes look at other houses on our road and wonder if the same builders built them.

the same builders built Peterborough train station and the old police station.

One good thing with a wall built with different coloured brickwork is that a slightly different one won't show up so much. Getting the mortar colour right helps. If the bricks are a bit shorter you may be able to make the headers a bit bigger.

There are "brick doctors" that can match bricks to existing brick colours if it does stand out using some alternative bricks. A friend had his garage bricked up as part of a
conversion and had this done, it blended them
    perfectly

Our house has similar, low profile, bricks. We fortunately have not needed to replace any, but you have my sympathy, as I imagine it will be a major PITA.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Hi OP

Is this work for mortgage purposes?

When my parents bought their first house in London, well over 40 years ago it was an old terraced house, up and over type.

On the rear, up/wer side of the wall were three bricks, two with cracks like yours and the other with a bit missing.

Dad crumbled and old brick and filled it in, touvh it up with sand etc, and almost a prefect match and looked a look more original that it it was to be changed with an another London Brick - there are easier to mathc than you but you may want to consider that as I doubt you will get an exact match and even if you do, the cemts wont match

The surveyor that came back to look re mortgae - noted dad had not replaced bicks but he passed them.

No one ever noted the works after that

    Thnaks
