Old Natwest Travellers Cheque

Hi forumites, well I found an old Natwest travellers cheque which I was keeping for emergency when travelling abroad many years ago. Of course these don't have an expiry date, right? Well I am finding it extremely difficult to cash in now with Natwest (the issung bank that I no longer hold an account with), either of my current banks, the local post office or currency exchange kiosk. So are there any fresh options to consider?
Thanks
RFS

Can you get a store to accept it in payment of something?  Or open an account with NW simply to deposit the cheque??

As Brie writes, I'd just open an account. According to NatWest's help page:

"There are some instances in which you can still deposit travellers cheques with us, which are outlined below:
    • Only legacy NatWest issued travellers cheques can be deposited at any of our NatWest branches.
    • Only US Dollar and Euro travellers cheques will be accepted."
