Omg. That's awful, both for your dad and your friend. I am sorry to hear that.3

That is really bad that people are getting told things like that! Total ageism.
Thanks for the info about the HRT. I am going to read all the information about side effects carefully when I pick mine up.
The GP said my cholesterol was high and she said that could be due to the menopause, but I want to lose some weight and do more exercise anyway. The treadmill I bought myself for xmas is good for getting in extra steps, but it isn't the most exciting form of exercise! I'm just watching TV while I use it. It was very gusty when I woke up, but it feels very mild outside, but the treadmill will come in handy if it is raining all day. I was eating too many takeaways when my kitchen was being done and I think I had the blood test right after that. I need to cook more at home which will save some money too. I'm going to make a leek and potato soup when my shopping arrives later.

Fab Friday.I have done my best and am looking as fabulous as I can although I'm not really feeling it. Have had to cancel todays planned entertainments because I have a dicky tummy. Oh well, "C'est La vie". So a nice quiet day, resting up a bit so that I will be ok for the new year festivities.Wednesday. Losing weight should help your cholesterol levels. Apparently just losing 10% can bring your cholesterol levels down, without medication.I have been watching some you tube videos by a lady called Nikol Johnson, she is an American aesthetician, very attractive and stylish, with a to die for wardrobe. Apparently she buys a lot of her clothes "on consignment". Not exactly sure what that means. I'm assuming some sort of a job lot. She keeps what she likes and either sells or donates the rest. Not quite sure how old she is, I would guess early 50s but she is stunning. She's my new inspiration.. I want to be like her when I grow up. 😂🤣4

Hope your tummy settles down. There seems to be a lot of viruses going round. I am full of cold; cough; aches; and fuzzy head. DGS3 had a cough when they came round Boxing day and I seem to have caught it, but of course its making me feel a lot worse than he was feeling....lol. I'm certainly not feeling fab this Friday. I'm sure we'll all be feeling bright again soon. This awful weather isn't helping. Think puzzle and books for the afternoon.

Oh dear MB2, hope you feel better soon. I've managed a bite to eat and taken a couple of paracetamol for my pounding headache. The house is clean and tidy and as my husband used to say "there's nothing spoiling" so I'm back in bed with a cup of tea. Hopefully a little nap will sort me out.3

I'm just looking Nikol Johnson up now. I follow quite a few people on YT. It says she is married to Michael Phelps when I googled her.
I'm not doing anything for NYE (as usual!) but we are going out tomorrow to Greenwich for a meal and drinks with my brother and his girlfriend. The woman at the kennel said she could have taken my dog in for NYE so I might do that next year, if we still live in Essex as we might have moved to Kent by then. The pharmacy said my HRT prescription might be ready by today, but I will just go and pick it up tomorrow before we get the train into London.

Wonderful Weekend. The last one of 2023. I am wondering what 2024 will bring. I'm soooo excited. I love a fresh new year and new beginnings.I do get a bit sentimental this time of year, thinking of those I have loved and lost but if you carry them in your heart then they are not really lost are they. My parents lived to almost 90 so I have no cause for complaint. My husband was taken too soon, (at just 57) and the latter years were difficult but, until he got sick at 49, he was always something of an Action Man who lived life at full throttle. In fact I sometimes found it difficult to keep up with him. Lol. They do say the stars that shine the brightest burn out first. The world certainly seems is a greyer place without him. Hey ho.Anyway, when I'm down or at times when I get a bit melancholy or sentimental I remember his vibrant energy and lust for life and I resolve to be more like him and to be guided by his energy. I always ask myself what would B would do. This year has been a bit of a "time out" for me to pause a little and regroup. It's been good for me in so many ways, giving me time to think and finally say goodbye to the widow.Next year I hope to forge ahead, new house, new life. I'm ready. I have made a vow to myself that I will live for him as well as for myself. I have spent so many years grieving and feeling lost but it's time now to really start living again. I shall be 73 next year, no time to waste, 😂🤣But first one last family party tomorrow to say goodbye to 2023. 🥂🎉.Onwards and upwards my dear friends. The best is yet to come. 💕💕9

Hope 2024 is everything you wish for & more. X
I intend to make 2024, a year to travel more, do more & achieve more.
But looks as though I'm seeing out 2023 with dreaded lurgy...just tested positive for covid....oh well, onwards & upwards.

@helensbiggestfan keep on keeping on
I used to totally hibernate and hide at this time of year because tomorrow is my parents wedding anniversary, 2nd of January is my mums birthday and 4th January is the date she died (aged 64)
I then started buying flowers on 31st Dec and thinking fond memories of them every time I saw them instead of being sad
My OH has been going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment for the whole of 2023
We have a consultant meeting on 4th January to find out if it is in remission
If it is I will forever think my mum was looking out for us on the 27th anniversary of her death
The resultant bone damage and loss of mobility may take longer but we will keep on keeping on with fortitude as my mum did her whole life
Happy New Year when it comes
You rock fortitude!9
