@Makingabobor2 - so happy to hear your wrist is improving. I know how hard it is when you are one-handed as I have "done myself in" that way several times. Especially when it is the hand you use the most (though I was surprised how often it caused problems when it was the other hand). I have to wear a brace on one hand at night and even that is a problem. So sending you some hugs for a short recovery time. Just do all of the exercises they force you to do. It does help.3

Wellness Wednesday.Good Morning my lovely friends. How are we all. It's a little quiet on here, hope you are all ok. I have been very remiss about posting but I intend to address that. Keeping up this diary does help me stay on track so from now on I intend to post more frequently.Hi Weenancy. Hope all is well Stateside. Whereabouts are you.MB2. Sorry to hear about your wrist, I bet it has been very painful. Don't overdo it, let it heal and don't worry too much about posting until you feel ready. (Although it was nice to hear from you). Hope you make a full rocovery soon. 💐
Humdinger. well done on reversing your diabetes. Try not to worry about dipping back in. You managed to reverse it before so you can do it again. I struggle with the same issues but although my blood sugar levels are still a little on the high side they are at least stable and within the pre diabetes range so I'm confident I can eventually reverse mine too. And then, hopefully, stay in remission, although like you, I'm sure I will dip now and again. I think we have to remember that managing diabetes is a lifelong thing. Unfortunately we have to remain vigilant for life.Which brings me neatly to my Wellness Wednesday progress report.Yesterday I had my two final dental implants. Wahoo. 💃. Although they were more invasive than the previous three, requiring incisions and stitching, I am actually feeling pretty much ok today. Very little pain and discomfort. 🤞. My dentist is really pleased with my progress and how well the first three are healing. She estimates that I should be able to get the crown parts done sometime in February. It will be so nice to have my mouth fully restored and be able to smile with confidence again. It may sound frivolous but I have felt so embarrassed by my teeth that I feel it has really impacted my self image and made me lose confidence, even holding me back with my career because I wouldn't attend interviews for better jobs or try for promotion. Ah well, better late than never.Anyway I'm sooooo glad Stage 1 of my implant journey is now complete. A few days to recuperate and then I can move onto the next stage of my wellness journey........weightloss, sorting out my hormones and getting fitter. It seems like such a long haul but I WILL get there.Going to give myself a facial today and just potter about. Have a great day y'all.10 -
Thanks for the well wishes. Yes, it has been painful, still is depending how I move my wrist. Today as its Wellness Wednesday, it just happened to be my first proper physio appointment since seeing the chap at the fracture clinic. He had given me some exercises to do when the plaster was taken off, 2 weeks ago. The chap Is saw today, says I am making good progress and I shouldn't expect too much too soon. I was worried I wasn't able to do enough, but he says it will be 3 months before I can lift heavy weights and incorporate them into my exercise routines again and probably 2 to 3 months before I can drive. This week he has given me some extra exercises to do and made me another appointment for 3 weeks time. So onwards and upwards.
Hope everyone else is having a good dayMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Lots of good farm shops.

I've never heard of Minnis Bay.
Helen - great news about your teeth!
Broadstairs was nice, although it was just a flying visit and Storm Ciarán was quite bad on the morning when we woke up in the Airbnb. I did read in a retirement book that if you are thinking of moving to an area then go and see it off season, which we definitely did! We ate out at an Italian restaurant on the high street the night before and we saw Viking Bay and Stone Bay. We are going to go back there in the Spring and look around more.
Wellness Wednesday - I was supposed to have my third reflexology session today, but her husband has Covid so I had to reschedule. I did fill in an econsult to get HRT as I just read that Menopausing book too. I think I am in perimenopause now. I did catch something while I was away (not Covid as I did a test) and I am still coughing a bit. I have the hygienist booked for Friday so I'm hoping it will be completely gone by then.
I got my eyebrows dyed for the first time ever last week. They looked dramatic to me at first as I haven't even used eye pencil on them for years, but I am used to them now. Someone on here said she does her eyebrows herself so I might do it myself next time. I am going away for my brother's 40th birthday at the start of December and I have bought some new loungewear as we are all staying in an Airbnb so I wanted to be comfortable as well as stylish!

We sometimes go to Minnis Bay with DD. Parts of Margate and Ramsgate are ok but other parts are run down.3

Some of my ancestors lived in the Margate area. Back in the 1600s they migrated to the Massachusetts and Connecticut area - and the family kept going west so by the 1900s part of the family ended up in California. My parents made it to Anaheim, where Disneyland is, and I'm still there. Can't go too much further west. Almost all of my ancestors who were in England or Scotland had left by 1750, most by 1650. Most left for religious reasons it looks like, especially the early ones. The German part of my ancestry came in two different time periods - 1709 and then a different group in 1848. The Irish ancestors didn't leave until the 1850s. One-fourth of me is Swedish - and they didn't immigrate until the 1880s. Those of you who do family history know the hardest is the Irish part. My brother-in-law's Irish were easier to locate as his grandparents were the immigrants. But getting past the 1850s has been tough.
I used to take people to the British Isles to help them find where their ancestors lived. I am looking forward to going back again someday. My idea of living the good life would be to be able to visit there at least four weeks a year, if not more, visiting every charity shop and used bookstore I could find. I would also spend time in the libraries as I have found good books for sale in those when I was there. Not your normal tourist sites I will admit. I have a friend who travels the same way and we have been there several times together.

Fab Friday.Hello lovely ladies. How are we all.Well it's Fab Friday and I'm bathed and fragrant, wearing a favourite red jumper, and feeling happy, relaxed and raring to go. I do need a haircut but hopefully next week. Latest implants seem to be doing well. No pain or discomfort at all today.A slight negative.....my car is playing up so I'm just waiting for my trusty mechanic to drop by and see what he can do. I have a feeling this might be make or break time. My car is ancient and I think we might finally have reached the end of the road.....quite literally. I guess there comes a point where it's not really viable any more and it might be time to part company with the old girl. Anyway we'll see.Soooo, I've just done an online grocery shop. I can manage without a car for the time being if need be. You can shop online for just about anything really can't you. Where I currently live it's a 10 minute walk to a range of shops, library, dentist, doctor etc. There's an excellent bus service into the city (free with my bus pass) and a taxi to pick up the slack doesn't break the bank. If I really dislike being car free I can always buy again, although ideally I want to wait until I've bought my next house first. I've been looking on RM. Not found "The 0ne" yet. I always said I wanted to get the dental implants sorted first so I haven't really been seriously looking. After Christmas I'll get cracking.Wee Nancy . Your post about your ancestors was really interesting. It's nice that you managed to visit the "old country", hopefully you will again. And yes, browsing book shops and charity shops is huge fun isn't it, throw in craft fairs and car boots and it would be my idea of heaven too. I often watch American you tube videos of people visiting thrift shops and consignment stores. The charity shops round my way have become quite expensive recently and the quality of merchandise has been very disappointing of late so I haven't bought much at all. I think I need to cast my net a little further afield. I have been quite lucky with eBay recently and am currently watching a couple of possibles.Thrifty Thursday went well. Did my usual weekly financial health check. All is good. Still trying hard to reduce my food budget, whilst eating healthily. Although tbh my choices have been a bit restricted because of the need to stick to "soft foods" - a bit bland and boring, and sadly no alcohol allowed. Thankfully the alcohol ban can be lifted soon. Wahay.Anyhoo.......It's all going to plan........
Time for a stroll in the sunshine and then lunch. 💕7
