I appreciate that it has been dry but I have now really had my fill of winter. I need a seasonal change!

I went to Aldi to buy some flowers and saw 24 white, pink and red roses for £9.99. So cheap and lovely.:)

Snowdrops are out and vast arrays of yellow crocuses have appeared along some local roads.  I have the gardeners coming on Monday and said that I didn't want them here unless it was warm enough to plant all the bulbs that need going in - looks like that will happen.  I'll also get them to repot a couple of planters that appear to have had their compost evaporate (how does that happen!?!???)  There's pink daffodils in one and as it is they won't even get their heads above the side of the pot!!!

The big thing I need to do is sort out our bbq.  I don't know the last time I used it - might be September?  And I'm a year round user so this is a major thing for me.  It started to smell gassy so I suspect there's a leak in a hose or something.  Not sure who would know how to fix it (assuming I can't do the job myself - not that I'd know what I was doing....).  But it's a big weber and would normally be used a couple of times a week at a minimum.  Much easier than washing up pans  :p and so lovely for eating outside.

Inside the house - I plan on getting shutters for the velux windows upstairs so we can better keep out the hot sun.  And I'm looking forward to cool cotton duvet covers on the light weight single duvets rather than the brushed flannel on the massive heavy duvet we use in winter.

It's got cold again but the signs of spring abound: daffs in the dual carriageways, and the trees are starting to blossom. And it's not dark until 6pm, so I have been taking advantage of the light and gave my lawn its first cut of the year today. It took me 2 hours!! But will be so worth it when the sun shines on it tomorrow. I had hoped to plant a couple of pots but there was no time, I shall just have to make some time during the day tomorrow.

I am enjoying planning the next few months. I finally feel I have come out of hibernation!
