I prepared for winter with cosy vibes, candles and blankets, holding in warmth and feeling content.
now I want to look forward to spring and summer, the breeze, evenings spent out doors and windows open with the scent of flowers .
so, I am checking my seed boxes, searching for net curtains in charity shops to put in place of the plastic keeping the heat in, to keep insects out.
I am thinking of ways to store my blankets and ways to create light and airiness in the house.
I know where my fans and Air purifier are.
what are you doing to look forward to the summer?
and let us us share the signs of spring we see, to help us look forward.

lots of bulbs coming up, am planning to start some seeds going indoors etc - do something about my hairy legs (sorry) - I leave them furry in the winter, extra warmth12

My chillis - and a couple of tomatoes - are up & about, in a propagator with LED lights, admittedly, but they're there! DD2 has started talking about painting & redecorating (echoes of Mole from Wind in the Willows & his whitewash, anyone?) and a tiny bit of spring cleaning is occurring here & there. And I've started eyeing up summery fabrics & yarns... oh dear!Angie - GC April 25: £351.86/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 21/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6

The temperature has dropped again, I like feeling hygge-y.Nothing gives me spring vibes like sunshine and tulips though. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.10 -
Beautiful idea for a thread!
I live for the warmer, brighter months, and look forward to them with eagerness as soon as Christmas is over.
Once the cut daffs and tulips start coming into the shops, I treat myself to a bunch every other week - they really brighten up the place.‘When you only have two pennies left in the world, spend one on bread and the other on flowers. Taking down the thick winter curtains and hanging the fresh, light summer ones. It makes the room look renewed, and the sunlight and fresh air can come in (Also quicker and less messy than redecorating! 😄)“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

I can’t wait for Spring & Summer. Bought a parasol with gift vouchers this weekend so I can sit in my south west facing garden all afternoon without cooking in the sun. Cleared the garden beds, trimmed a couple of hedges & attended to the hydrangea, which is showing buds already.I’ll have a lot more plants this year as I’ll be using planters to puppy proof the upper part of my garden. We won’t be going on any holidays this year so I’ll be growing tomatoes again & restarting my herbs & spring onions etc in the puppy proofed bit.6

Great idea for a thread, Spring is my favourite time of the year I can’t wait for light evenings again. It was lovely to see snowdrops when out walking today.
personally I will be:
Planting seeds and cutting back the roses
Getting the garden furniture out from hibernation
changing over to the summer duvet
Start booking pedicures, ready for sandal weather
packing away the heavy winter clothes and getting out my summer ones
moving to summer foods and ditching stews and soup meals for a good few months.
Enjoy a pre and post work cuppa in the garden …..blissWell Behaved women seldom make history

I love daffs, they are so cheerful. Tulips are beautiful too.
I am so looking forward to Spring. I have a box with all my gloves, scarves and hats in my living room and I will be glad to put that box away when it gets warmer.
I moved to the seaside last year and I walked along the beach most mornings when it was very warm. I will be happy when the clocks go forward.9 -
Another lovely thread.
I also love daffs and tulips, but not keen on the daffodil scent! I have loads growing in the garden but last year DDS pup dug many of them up and replanted them elsewhere, so this year will be interesting🙂£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund5
