I made a washing up bowl pond on the allotment last autumn and planted some daffs and irises round it so looking forward to those coming up. I've also started some seeds on window sills in the flat. I've succumbed to a subscription to Gardener's World as it includes some useful free gifts and seeds and the magazine itself is cheaper than shop price. I'll pass it on to one of my daughters-in-law so it gets used twice.Grocery challenge 2024: Annual budget £298.98/12006

I'm really noticing the difference in daylight the past few days as it seems much brighter suddenly. I had an early night last night as I'm getting over Covid, but I did some Spring cleaning in my bedroom first and moved the furniture around a bit to make more floor space and I'm making another bag up for donation as well.
I think I will go to Aldi this weekend and get some fresh flowers for my living room and maybe for my bedroom too.4 -
Are the pots of Tête-à-tête daffodils around yet?
I usually buy one of those if they are around £1 as you can enjoy them growing and the flowers last quite a while plus: bonus: plant outside in a pot for next year. (not in the garden- munchies for snails & slugs!!)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything! --
Many thanks

mrs_motivated said:Great idea for a thread, Spring is my favourite time of the year I can’t wait for light evenings again. It was lovely to see snowdrops when out walking today.
personally I will be:
Planting seeds and cutting back the roses
Getting the garden furniture out from hibernation
changing over to the summer duvet
Start booking pedicures, ready for sandal weather
packing away the heavy winter clothes and getting out my summer ones
moving to summer foods and ditching stews and soup meals for a good few months.
Enjoy a pre and post work cuppa in the garden …..bliss
I too noticed a significant milestone in the length of day, its not dusk until after 5pm now. 50 days until we put the clocks forward, peopleNo man is worth crawling on this earth.

Hoping they will be open on Monday, they really brighten the room up as well as perking me up7 -
Daffs peeking out of the ground in my back garden, which is a most welcome sign.
It was dry and sunny today, in contrast with yesterday afternoon's dullness. I went for a walk at the same time as yesterday and it was lighter for longer. Sunset over the Essex riviera, 16.47:

Lovely photo @Rosa_Damascena
We saw lovely clumps of snowdrops on our walk today. They were delicate but defiantly bold.
To help to move my home from winter to spring I've swopped table mats from red tartan to pink and my indoor hyacinths have just given us some beautiful pink flowers. We put some pastel bed linen on today and some turquoise towels in the bathrooms. All items were shopped from home. It was bright and sunny here today so I washed and line dried our cushion covers and knitted blankets from the sofas and they smell nice and fresh tonight.

I have open daffs in my garden! I'm in South West Wales. The tulips however are only now just starting to push up.3
